  Hanuman Chatti is located 13km from Yamunotri in Uttarakhand, on the confluence of Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna Rivers. It is a popular trekking point to Yamunotri, Darwa Top and Dodi Tal. Hanuman Chatti houses a Hanuman Temple, which is also the main attraction here. Hanuman Chatti was the starting point to the Yamunotri Dham before the road to Janki Chatti was made. The trekking distance to Yamunotri has now been shortened by 7km. Most tourists travelling to Yamunotri stay at Hanuman Chatti which has good stay options.

 Uttarkashi that literally suggests ‘ Kashi of the North ’ is also nicknamed as ‘ Somya Kashi ’ and ‘ Shivnagri ’. Like Kasi, the town of Uttarkashi also houses the sacred  Vishwanath temple . This holy shrine features a copper trident, having a circumference of 1 meter.  The charming town of Uttarkashi is quite popular amongst the adventure enthusiasts as it offers several opportunities for trekking, mountaineering, and adventure sports. It is also known for the wide variety of coniferous vegetation such as fir, pine, deodar, medicinal shrubs and herbs.
